Holy Week Special Services

April 9 – 12
Services at All Saints, Trinity Episcopal, and the Music Academy of the West

Thursday, April 9: Maundy Thursday – Service at 6 p.m. (All Saints Parish Hall)

Friday, April 10: Good Friday – Services at noon and 6 p.m. (All Saints Parish Hall)

Saturday, April 11: Easter Vigil – Service at 7 p.m. (Trinity Episcopal Church – 1500 State Street)

Sunday, April 12: Easter Sunday – Services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. (Music Academy of the West – 1070 Fairway Road)


April 9, Maundy Thursday: This celebration commemorates the institution of the Eucharist, and Jesus’ mandate to his disciples to show love through acts of humble service. The 6 p.m. service in the Parish Hall will feature communal footwashing, a shared Eucharist, and thy symbolic Stripping of the Altar.

 

April 10, Good Friday: These services commemorate the trial and crucifixion of Jesus all are invited to hear The Passion story, offer honor to the cross, and share communion from reserve sacrament. Services will be held in the Parish Hall at noon and 6 p.m., and will feature a chanted Passion and the veneration of the cross.

 

April 11, Great Vigil of Easter: This liturgy is the first celebration of Easter, rejoicing in Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. Service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church at 7 p.m., beginning outside on the Labyrinth Plaza with the lighting of the new fire, symbolizing the light of Christ in the world. After processing in to the sanctuary, readings and hymns will recount the history of our salvation, and all will be invited to renew their baptismal vows. April 12, Easter Sunday: On Easter Day All Saints will celebrate Christ’s Resurrection at Hahn Hall, Music Academy of the West at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. These two Easter morning services will feature full choir and special music, readings proclaiming the Resurrection, and a celebration of Christ through holy communion.
