Worship Ministries

Throughout the week, teams of laypeople from All Saints give their time and talents to enrich and uplift the worship experience on Sunday mornings. Read on to learn about some of the ministry teams that make services possible, and how to get involved.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild maintains the Altar and prepares it for each service. They are responsible for changing the alter linens, setting the altar for each service, and removing and washing all items after use. The Altar Guild monitors the supplies of communion wafers and wine, changes the decorative hangings based on the liturgical seasons and holy days of the year, and supports the Clergy as needed on Sundays. If you are interested in joining this ministry, please contact the church office.

Flower Guild

The Flower Guild makes arrangements of flowers that stand beside the altar each service. Their arrangements are thoughtfully planned to support the theme and colors of each service according to the day of the church calendar. Flowers are purchased directly from local growers. To become involved, please contact the church office.

Lectors

At each service, lessons from the bible and prayers of the people are read by laypeople from the All Saints community. If you would be interested in reading at a service, please contact the church office.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers

A team of Lay Eucharistic Ministers is present at each service to assist the clergy in distributing the elements of communion to the congregation. They process into the church at the beginning of the service and serve as chalice bearers during the liturgy of the table. If you would like to serve in this ministry, please contact the church office.

Ushers

Ushers’ duties include helping people find their way to worship, distributing service bulletins, seating visitors, and collecting a plate offering.  If you would be willing to serve as an usher, please contact the church office.

Greeters and Welcomers

These groups exist to make visitors feel welcome and to answer any questions they may have. Greeters stand at the main entrances to say “good morning!” to everyone entering the church. A member of the Welcome Committee is always at services to direct visitors to the info table on the patio to learn more about All Saints. They are always happy to answer questions about our community or upcoming events. To learn more about these ministries, please contact the church office.

Acolytes

Acolytes stand alongside the clergy, lighting the altar candles, and bearing torches and the Cross into the church at the beginning of each service. Individuals of all ages serve as Acolytes. If you or a family member may be interested in serving as an Acolyte, please contact the church office.
