Sunday, July 14 – The Very Rev. Sylvia Sweeney, PhD
Rev. Sweeney is Dean and President of Bloy House, the Episcopal Theological School at Claremont. She has served as parish priest in congregations in Montana, Idaho, and California, and was Ministry Development Officer for the Episcopal Diocese of California. She is also author of Ecofeminist Perspectives on Ash Wednesday and Lent (2009) and the upcoming Winged with Longing for Better Things, an eco-feminist Lenten devotional.
Sunday, July 21 – The Rev. Canon Melisa McCarthy
Originally from Bakersfield, Canon McCarthy graduated from UC Riverside with a bachelor’s degree in religious studies, and received her Master of Divinity from Church Divinity School of the Pacific. She has served in several churches in California, and developed a range of education & formation programs for children, youth, and adults,
Sunday, August 11 – The Rt. Rev. Diane Jardine Bruce
Bishop Bruce was elected seventh bishop suffragan of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles in 2009, after having served 10 years as rector of St. Clement’s by-the-Sea Church in San Clemente. The first woman to be elected bishop in diocesan history, she was ordained to the episcopate in 2010. Bishop Bruce’s areas of specialization include stewardship and multicultural ministries.
