General Contractor Bidding Process Begins

The process to secure competitive bids from area general contractors began over the past few weeks.

Several contractors from the greater Central Coast region have been contacted to determine their interest to participate in an informational meeting about our project.

From these one-on-one meetings, which took place in early November, it is envisioned that three to four will be invited to submit detailed construction bids based on the final construction drawings, which were submitted to Santa Barbara County for plan check.

Contractors will have January and February 2018 to prepare their detailed bids, including for all subcontractors. The project Facilities Committee will review submissions recommend a contractor to the Vestry. The Sanctuary “evacuation” or move-out process will occur in April and May and the contractor will formally begin work in early June.
