Today’s, Tomorrow’s (Feb. 2/3) Worship Services Cancelled Due to Storm Impact

Message from Rev. Aimee:

As our All Saints community weathers this storm, you are all in my prayers. I pray you are all staying safe and dry. Over the past two days, I have kept in touch with the Incident Commander at Montecito Fire. He has informed me that it is unlikely that the Evacuation Order will be lifted today. If you are watching KEYT or other media/social media outlets, you know that US 101 is closed from SR 150 in Carpinteria to Milpas Street in Santa Barbara. Similarly, there are several surface streets in Montecito that have been impacted by minor mud flow. You can find information about road closures and evacuations at this link. Furthermore, there are numerous power outages in the region, including All Saints’ campus and neighborhood. Finally, emergency managers remain concerned about the impact of tonight’s storm on the already burdened debris basins and creek channels.

In order to cooperate with emergency personnel, and in order to keep the people of All Saints and the general public safe, All Saints will NOT be holding worship this weekend, neither on Saturday nor Sunday. If you know of parishioners who do not use email, please contact them to inform them of the cancellation of worship at All Saints this weekend. I encourage you all to attend the Episcopal Church nearest you to worship God in the communion of the saints. You can find service information at these links:

Trinity Episcopal Church, Santa Barbara
St. Michael’s University Church, Isla Vista
Mt. Calvary Monastery, Santa Barbara
Christ the King Episcopal Church, Goleta

For some in our community, times of heavy rains and threat or incident of mud and debris flow will stir feelings of grief, fear, anger or anxiety. To those in need of comfort and strength at this time, I offer you these prayers:

Prayer for Preparedness and Response O God, our times are in your hand.  In the midst of uncertainty lead us by your never-failing grace as we seek to be agents of healing and hope.  Walk with us through difficult times; watch over us in danger; and give to us a spirit of love and compassion for those who suffer and mourn.  And finally remind us that you have promised never to leave us so that even in the valley of the shadow of death your love may be felt, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen

A Prayer of Comfort in God God, you are my help and comfort; you shelter and surround me in love so tender that I may know your presence with me, now and always. Amen

I look forward to worshiping with you all next weekend — Saturday and/or Sunday —  in the Parish Hall!

God’s peace be with you all, Aimée
