Rev. Aimée has compiled a list of online resources for daily prayer and spiritual practice. Used in conjunction with recordings of Sunday services or live streams from other churches, these resources can help you maintain your spiritual practice and keep you connected to God and the church even remotely. Rev. Aimée invites everyone to explore these prayer resources and use them in whatever way is most meaningful to them!
–The Book of Common Prayer Online (opens as pdf)
The Book of Common Prayer is the template for all Episcopal worship, and it is made available online for free by Church Publishing Incorporated.
—The Daily Office Network (includes audio recordings)
—The Mission of St. Claire
—Brotherhood of St. Gregory Daily Office App (mobile friendly)
Participation in the Daily Office is at the heart of Anglican spirituality. It is the proper form of daily public worship in the church. In addition to forms for Daily Morning Prayer and Daily Evening Prayer, the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) includes forms for Noonday Prayer, Order of Worship for the Evening, Compline/Latenight Prayer. They can also be found on pages 75-135 in your BCP (but it is easier to use online sources).
—Daily Devotions by Forward Movement
Daily devotions are shorter versions of the Daily Office that you can pray in the Morning, at Noon, in the Early Evening, or at the Close of Day. They’ll appear on the Forward Movement website automatically, according to your local time. You can also find them on pages 133-40 of the BCP.
The Daily Office resources above include daily scripture readings. Forward Day by Day also posts a daily scripture meditation for every day of the year.
Contemplative Outreach offers a free App to support people in their daily contemplative prayer practice. You can find it at the link above, on iTunes, or the Google Play Store.
