Food Security Resources

Now that we have been ordered to stay-at-home to “flatten the curve,” here are some resources for grocery delivery, food delivery, and food bank services to keep you fed and healthy. We hope these resources can help you or a neighbor through these times.

The Santa Barbara Food Bank is expanding its efforts to safely provide food to increased community need. Find out more about how you can find food or offer help at their website.

Grocery Delivery

Zoomers to Boomers

Delivers Monday-Saturday, from Goleta to Carpinteria
Any order made before 5 P.M. will be delivered within the next two business days.

Local high schoolers have organized a volunteer grocery delivery service for those kept at home by the virus. The volunteers ask for reimbursement for the cost of groceries, but do not charge for service or delivery.

Instacart

You can order food from Instacart from local markets. They pick-up and deliver your order, and you pay online. Participating local groceries include: Ralph’s, Vons, Sprouts, Smart & Final, CVS, Gelson’s, Bevmo, Costco Petsmart.

Farm Fresh to You

This is a local enterprise that connects “local farms and communities together in a method that is environmentally and economically sustainable.” They prepare and deliver boxes of fruits and vegetables right to your door. Marni and Sears McGee have signed up and, “are excited to begin something that is new to us – something that may well change how we live even after the crisis has passed.”

Food Delivery

Santa Barbara Take out and Food Delivery

A website with Santa Barbara area restaurants that are staying open to offer takeout and delivery.
You can also order food online from local restaurants from:

The Organic Soup Kitchen

The Soup Kitchen is ramping up its capacity during this time. Their soups are $15.00 per 24 oz container, and are all plant based, organic, and gluten free, and low sodium. Delivery is free of charge and drivers deliver on Wednesdays to Montecito. (Marni and Sears also commend their services to you!) Drivers are also equipped with gloves, sanitizers and have taken extra precautions, so if you do not want any contact, just leave a cooler out with ice in it and the driver will put it in the cooler. They take credit cards only for delivery, so the driver or client do not have to handle cash or check at this time due to the virus. Call (805) 364-2790 to set up delivery.
