The clergy and staff of All Saints-by-the-Sea are dedicated to meeting the spiritual and worldly needs of our parish.
The Reverend Channing Smith’s first Sunday as All Saints’ 9th Rector was January 14, 2024. Channing has served as Rector for three prior congregations-most recently at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Austin, Texas, a large and dynamic congregation consisting of 2 campuses and 2 early childhood education programs. Other stints included serving as Rector at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church and School in Saratoga, California and Transfiguration Episcopal Church in San Mateo, California. Channing grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and went to Kenyon College in Ohio and the General Theological Seminary in New York City. He is married to Mary Richards, and they have a daughter Oliva, who is attending Montecito Union School. They are excited to be a part of the All Saints family, and Channing is looking forward to all the ways that we will grow spiritually and give voice to hope as we are grounded in love for God and one another. As the First Letter of John reminds us “When we love one another, God lives in us.”
The Rev. Victoria Kirk Mouradian joined All Saints in June 2013. As Associate Rector, she is in charge of Adult Formation, which includes Christian education and spiritual formation through classes, workshops, retreats and fellowship opportunities. She participates fully in Sunday worship and preaches or celebrates on a rotating basis. Rev. Vicki also leads All Saints’ Pastoral Care Ministries and is the clergy liaison to the layminister-led Outreach Committee.
Vicki grew up as an Episcopalian in Beverly Hills, California, and attended the University of Southern California where she earned a bachelor’s degree in art history. Moving on to Fuller Theological Seminary, she earned a master’s of theology, taking Anglican Studies at the Episcopal Theological Seminary at Claremont.
Vicki has an interest in art, museums, books, films, public gardens, travel, and creating two-dimensional collages. Before entering the ministry, Vicki worked as an event coordinator. One thing few people know about Vicki is that to relax she reads murder mysteries and international suspense novels.
Beth Mohon first came to All Saints in the fall of 2016 after a cross-country move from Louisville, Kentucky. She worked in restaurant management and as a college writing instructor before starting her most important job, raising her two boys Kenny and Elliott. The daughter of an American Baptist pastor, Beth came to the Episcopal church in 2009 while working on a masters in English at the University of Louisville. She is also an Ohio State University graduate, where she developed a lifelong passion for reading. Both her children have been baptized in the church, and Elliott was baptized by Rev. Aimee at All Saints in 2017. Before she became the Director of Administration in Spring of 2024, Beth was the Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries. She has also served in the Godly Play program since 2018 and recently completed a year of child-parent workshops at Starr-King with her son. She feels grateful to be able to play an important part in All Saint’s continued ministry.

When Jennifer is not at school, you might find her walking all around Santa Barbara with her Golden Retriever Rosie or visiting her daughter Caitlin in Los Angeles.
Steven is a choral artist with training as a conductor, vocalist, organist, and ethnomusicologist. He takes joy in facilitating thoughtful musical worship and tapping into the rich historical tradition of Christian sacred music. Steven Thomson joined All Saints by the Sea as a section leader in the All Saints Choir in January 2019. He was appointed Interim Music Director and Organist in May 2021 as the church was preparing to resume in-person services in the newly renovated sanctuary.
Raised in the mountains of northern Colorado, Steven developed a passion for liturgical music during his years as an undergraduate in Chicago where he earned a BA in Biblical Studies with a Music Emphasis and studied the organ. He went to work as an organist in the Christian Reformed Church. He holds a MA in Humanities from the University of Chicago where he specialized in ethnomusicology, conducting research on the Lebanese Maronite liturgy. Steven is currently a graduate student in choral conducting at UCSB, where he has also pursued additional coursework and research in ethnomusicology. Before moving to Santa Barbara, Steven served over two years in the US Peace Corps in the Republic of Armenia. While living in Armenia, he also had opportunities to study Armenian sacred music and to sing and tour with the Hover State Chamber Choir of Armenia. When he’s not making music, Steven can be found hiking, surfing (badly), studying languages, practicing yoga, and gathering with friends.
Cynthia Breen came to All Saints on All Saints Day in 2010 as bookkeeper for the Church and Parish School. As bookkeeper for both the Church and School she is directly involved in ensuring that all financial information is accurate and reporting is up to date. Cynthia offers invaluable support to the staff and the Vestry, Investment and Budget and Finance committees.
Cynthia grew up in Greensburg, Kansas, and moved to Santa Barbara in 1976. She attended San Marcos High School where she was on the debate team and studied advanced mathematics. She then attended Santa Barbara City College where she studied accounting. Her hobbies include political and historical documentaries, writing, non-fiction book reading, tennis, football, bowling and traveling. She grew up as a Methodist but has traversed many paths since.
One thing that few in the parish know about Cynthia is that without a life-saving operation at Boston’s Children Hospital at the age of 9, she wouldn’t be here today. Also, she is a licensed Notary Public.
A cradle Episcopalian, Robert grew up in the parish of St. Matthew, Pacific Palisades, CA. After a Freshman year at UC Berkeley in 1967, Robert served in the US Navy as a two-tour Vietnam Veteran Personnel Clerk. After moving to Santa Barbara, Robert worked as a Hang Gliding flight instructor and Tandem Instructor specialist.
Joining the All Saints’ Faith Community in 2000, Robert became involved in lay ministries, completed the Education for Ministry (EfM) program, and became an EfM mentor in 2005. One of Robert’s greatest joys is leading the Parish School children in song at weekly Chapel services, having sung in the classroom at St. Matthew’s Parish School in the 1950s.
Kathleen joined All Saints in the Summer of 2014 as the Director of Administration. Before joining the All Saints team she was the administrator at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Laguna Hills and prior to that, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Laguna Beach. Working in the church is more than just a job, it is a call. In Spring of 2024 she left her post as Director of Administration and became the Director of Communications.
In addition to her years working in the church administratively she is also a classical soprano specializing in sacred music. She has been the Music Director at a large Catholic Church in Orange County, and High School choir teacher. She currently spends her Sundays at a Presbyterian Church as their Choir Director. She is an avid bird watcher and nature lover.
Ella joined All Saints as a parishioner in 2022. In Spring of 2024 she became the Sunday School Director. Ella graduated from Westmont College last spring with a degree in art and psychology. She currently works at the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art as the Education and Outreach Coordinator, and enjoys curating programs for college students, families, and community to learn more about art. On the weekends, she volunteers at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History’s aviary and teach kids about our local birds. As Director of Sunday School, her main goal is to provide warmth and encouragement to our children as they seek to understand the mystery of faith. She hopes to make the stories of the Bible come alive for them through engaging activities, thoughtful conversations, and relating biblical stories to their daily lives. Ella deeply looks forward to teaching your children, but most of all she looks forward to learning from them. Ella hopes we may all have the same childlike curiosity, joy, and imagination in our relationships with God and each other.
