Support “The Little Cottage” @ “Fashions By-The-Sea” on Nov. 4

Come join members of the parish along with those from other area churches as we raise funds to benefit “The Little Cottage.”  A fashion show will take place at All Saints on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. The cost is $20 per person and there will be refreshments, a fun fashion show featuring clothes from Jockey Women’s Wear, and an opportunity drawing.  Parishioners Sally Messerlian and Pamela Hawes are helping coordinate this great event.

The Little Cottage provides overnight accommodations to out-of-the-area families of patients who are hospitalized at Cottage Hospital.  They operate 6 studio units located directly across the street from the hospital (across from the current Emergency Room entrance).  When a family from out of the area has someone admitted to Cottage (often, it is someone visiting here or traveling through and they experience a serious medical emergency, such as heart attack or automobile accident).  For those unable to commute back-and-forth to their home and either cannot find a local hotel/motel (due to lack of vacancy) or because they cannot afford a place to stay, they are contacted by Cottage’s Concierge Desk, located in the main lobby of the hospital.  The Nursing Director or someone from the Spiritual Care team or Medical Social Services discusses a families’ need for overnight accommodations.  If someone or a family needs a room overnight, they are referred to the Concierge Desk to make the arrangements. The hospital Concierge coordinates room availability and keeps a priority list.  The Cottage Concierge consults with The Little Cottage Resident Manager to determine what rooms are available and provides a room key, etc.
