We are very happy to report that Saturday, March 22’s Habitat for Humanity Work Day was a huge success with 25 parishioners participating and 70 volunteers from across the M4 churches coming together to help build affordable housing for the community’s most vulnerable.
The work day, which ran from 9am to noon at the construction site at 822 E. Canon Perdido Street, saw volunteers sharing everything from paint brushes to life experiences… and even had two acolytes younger than 16 painting birdhouses off-site!
Other tasks which kept everyone occupied included painting and trimming window frames, caulking holes and seams to seal the “green” house boundaries, nailing on fittings and metal attachments, handing up tools and materials to workers on ladders, painting exterior wood and cleaning up debris and trash. A big thank you to everyone who got involved!
