Wednesday, February 17 at noon and 7 p.m.
All Saints will hold two Ash Wednesday worship services over Zoom at noon and 7 p.m. on February 17. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, when Christ calls us to 40 days of reflection and prayer in anticipation of the celebration of the Resurrection on Easter Day. There will be no Eventide service on February 17 to accommodate the evening Ash Wednesday service. Please save the date, we look forward to seeing you at either the noon or 7 p.m. service!
There will be an opportunity in this service to self-impose ashes. You are invited, should it be your wish, to prepare ashes for your personal use at during this liturgy. You might do so by burning palms of past years into ash, using the soot left on a burnt candle wick, a burnt wine cork, or soil from your yard or a plant. Have them available to use at the appropriate time during the service to impose ashes upon yourself or those in your household. This is not necessary to participate in the Ash Wednesday liturgy, but is an option you can choose if desired.
These mid-week Ash Wednesday services will be held synchronously over Zoom, led by All Saints clergy and lectors. This is a different format than the usual Virtual Sunday Services, which will also be offered next week on the usual schedule.
