Selfies, Smiles and More Enjoyed on Social Media Sunday

Sunday (June 29) was a big day for All Saints and the rest of the Anglican Communion as all across the world we witnessed  people jumping online and sharing their faith on all things social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram (and more) – as part of “Social Media Sunday.” The day was a HUGE success which saw at one point saw “Episcopal” make the top five of the most popular topics on Twitter!  {For you novice onliners, this really is HUGE!}

Here at All Saints we also had great fun getting in on the action.

steve_vickiNot only did a number of parishioners get involved by using the designated hash tags #Episcopal, #SMSunday and #AllSaints BUT we also saw Music Director Steve O’Connor and Rev Vicki take their first ever selfie!

A highlight of the day took place when Father Bob took an amazing photo (below) of our special community saying ‘HELLO’ to the online world. This shot has already been uploaded to our social media channels and has had more 70 people like it on Facebook!

Our presence in the “Twittersphere” also attracted some impressive attention with us gaining a follow from The Episcopal Church and one of our tweets being retweeted by Christ Church Temple and Trinity Wall Street.

Thank you to everyone for participating on this special day and we can’t wait until Social Media Sunday 2015!

If would like to keep up-to-date with All Saints online and check out all the action from the day please like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter. You can also view a few of the photos from the day on our Flickr page.
