November at All Saints: A Look Ahead

HC sliderWe have an exciting new chapter ahead of us at All Saints-by-the-Sea. As we prepare for the arrival of Rev. Aimee, we are well on our way to finalizing wonderful guest preachers to join Rev. Vicki & Fr. Paul.

November Guest Preachers

November 2:  All Saints is pleased to welcome the Rt. Rev. William Burrill as guest preacher Sunday, November 2 for Consecration Sunday. Bishop Burrill is the retired bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester, NY, and is the Assisting Bishop in the Diocese of Arizona.

Prior to becoming Assisting Bishop of Arizona in 2000, Bishop Burrill had served sixteen years as Bishop of the Diocese of Rochester. He graduated from the University of the South and The General Theological Seminary, and completed post-graduate studies at Cambridge University; the Ecumenical Institute in Bossey, Switzerland; and he attended University of St. Andrews in St. Andrews, Scotland. He has served the Episcopal Church (USA) as both member and chairman of the Standing Commission on Stewardship and Development and also on the Program, Budget and Finance committees.

Bishop and Mrs. Burrill are the parents of four children and celebrate the abundance of ten grandchildren.

November 16: The Rev. William Tully will serve as our guest preacher.  Until he retired from full-time ministry, Rev. Tully served as Rector of St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City from 1994 until 2012. He led major spiritual and institutional growth after that historic congregation had lived through years of conflict, decline, and financial crisis. Prior to ordination, Bill was a newspaper reporter and then a community worker in New York’s Model Cities program. A native Californian, he is a graduate of Occidental College, the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and the General Theological Seminary in New York. He has served as trustee of Washington National Cathedral, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York, the General Theological Seminary, and as a director of Episcopal Social Services of the Diocese of New York. He and his wife Jane now live in Santa Barbara, and they have two grown sons.
