Best Day Foundation is an All Saints Outreach recipient that helps children with special needs build confidence and self-esteem through safe, fun, water activities like surfing and kayaking. Volunteers are needed for two upcoming Best Days: May 31 and June 1. The days start at 8:30 a.m. on Leadbetter beach where activities and lunch will run through 1 p.m.. The primary group of community volunteers serve as Beach Buddies to the children who are participants at the free event. Buddies are the key people that help each child have their Best Day at the beach by moving them from various water and beach activities. Trained volunteers for the various ocean activities will be ready to receive the children from the Beach Buddies and return them to be brought to the next exciting activity. Families of the participants have the opportunity for their own beach day and are given a 3 hour respite.
Parishioners of all ages and mobility are encouraged to attend and check out the fun on Saturday to see if they’d like to return on Sunday to help. There is a job for everyone. T-shirts and lunch will be provided for full-day volunteers.
