Bishop J. Jon Bruno will ride on the City of Hope’s Rose Parade float on New Year’s Day, one of 11 former patients who have recovered from cancer. “They figure I’m a good poster child,” he told delegates at the recent meeting of Diocesan Convention. Diagnosed with acute monocytic leukemia early in 2012, Bruno has now been judged “metabolically clear” of the condition by his doctors. A story from the City of Hope website about his recovery is here.
