ASBTS Parishioners Brighten Mother’s Day For Transition House Families

T-House Mother's Day 2015Caring and generous parishioners donated money and gifts to make the All Saints dinner on Mother’s Day a festive occasion at the Transition House emergency shelter for homeless families. A gift bag for each of the eighteen mothers contained a $25 gift card to Marshalls, hand-crafted and vintage necklaces, candy, Avon products, and toiletries. The presentation of gift bags after dinner was made by Jim Buckley, President of the Transition House Board of Directors, who asked children in each family individually to come forward where they were given long-stem flowers and a gift bag to give to their mother. A decorated cake was served with dessert to complete the event. For some time after dinner was over, mothers and their children continued exploring the contents of the bags and showing off the necklaces they received. Thank you for making possible these few happy moments in an otherwise grim day of living in a homeless shelter.
