The music ministry at All Saints enriches worship with a wide range of styles—from traditional hymns and classical works to folk, bluegrass, and contemporary pieces. The choir, made up of parish volunteers and supported by professional singers, leads services from September through June, with guest musicians joining for special occasions. All are welcome to sing in the choir, no prior experience required.

Nursery

While Christians of all ages are always welcome in worship, sometimes parents would like the support of child care so that they can have time for their own spiritual growth. Child care is available in the nursery during all Sunday morning worship times, and often available during other events in our common life together at All Saints.

It is available for infants and children up to age 3.

Godly Play

All Saints by-the-Sea has ministered to the Santa Barbara community for over 125 years. For the past 15 years, the cornerstone of our children and youth ministries has been the Godly Play program. Godly Play is a Montessori approach developed by Jerome Berryman that invites
children to engage their theological imaginations as they learn the key stories of the Christian faith. Godly Play meets on Sunday mornings in the Parish House from 10-10:30ish am. Children are brought back to the sanctuary for communion with the whole church family.

Godly Play is for children age 4-5th grade.

A dedicated group of parishioners meets week to practice various forms of group prayer. Participation in these groups is open to all.

Centering Prayer is a method of silent, prayerful meditation that opens the mind, heart, and spirit to better experience God’s presence within us all.

September to June Centering Prayer meets weekly on Wednesdays from 3:45pm to 5pm in the living room of the Parish House.

At All Saints, we strive to be a “living room” for the entire community. Which means, we hold relevant forums to explore current issues or to bring in inspiring speakers that address living our lives from a centered and grateful core.

We have newcomer classes about the Episcopal Church, weekly Bible Study, Education for Ministry classes, confirmation classes, book groups, and Sunday forums.

We are life-long learners at All Saints-by-the-Sea and we invite you to join us in exploring the questions that deeply matter to us.
