Parish Hall Chosen as Worship Site While Sanctuary is Renovated

After reviewing nearly 40 different worship location options, the All Saints Parish Hall has been chosen as our “home away from home” while the Sanctuary undergoes a major seismic upgrade.
The Sunday Worship Transition Team spent the past several months reviewing options, researching costs and analyzing logistical challenges as they worked to develop a recommendation to the Vestry.
“It was far more challenging than ever imagined”, said committee chair Charley Cairns. Besides costs, there were dozens of other factors, include seating capacity, parking availability, set up/take down of each service, rooms for Sunday School, Altar/Flower Guild storage areas, access to space, and much more. See the criteria developed by the committee at this link.
The main question regarding the use of the Parish Hall focused predominantly on how many “comfortable” seats could be set up to meet our needs. We then met with the County Building Department and the Fire District in June and each settled on a capacity of roughly 90 seats. We were on!

While this will require four worship services each Sunday, the mix of which is still to be determined, we know this was the best option for the parish. The results of parishioner feedback following the June 11 Town Hall was clear: let’s stay on campus!

Please stay tuned for important information in August regarding how we can all weigh in regarding service times and options, including the possibility of a service late afternoon on a Saturday or Sunday for the approximately 20 months we’ll be worshiping in the Parish Hall.
