Outreach

All Saints parishioners take seriously the scriptural call to be good stewards of God’s blessings. We know we are at our best when we practice the work God has sent us to do–to share God’s love and bounty with others, especially those in need. We recognize that engaging with our neighbors is an exchange of spiritual gifts.

Under the outstanding leadership of Susan Evans, the Outreach Team decided to make one local charity its focus project for 2023 with a $65,000 donation and a significant monthly volunteer commitment to Transition House. This donation was made in honor of David Boyd’s leadership in the community, faithful ministry and dedication to the Transition House mission.  The funds were presented on Monday, February 13, 2023.

These funds will be used to purchase new mattresses for the emergency shelter as well as enhancing the children’s and adult education programs. In addition, parishioners will be working with the shelter to purchase much needed kitchen equipment including dishes, cutlery and cups.

Monthly Monday packed lunches will be provided by leading volunteers between the 8am and 10am Sunday services. This will be a new opportunity to volunteer on the 2nd Sunday of each month. It is also a great opportunity for Parishioners to socialize with each other who attend different services. We will really need your support in making 73 delicious lunches for the men, women and children of Transition House.

Members of the Outreach Team will continue with our 2nd Sunday of the month dinners at Transition House’s Emergency Shelter.  We appreciate all the donations and volunteers that make these dinners so very special. We have been told by Transition House staff that All Saints dinners are the most popular. Thank you for the tremendous support! Come help us support this important local charity that lifts our Santa Barbara community.

The All Saints Outreach Committee was formed in 2007, creating a process for engaging parishioners in hands-on ministries and allocating funds to worthwhile causes. An annual golf tournament fundraiser was started to increase the dollars available for Outreach grants. It and the church budget provide the bulk of funds available to the Outreach Committee. In 2012, $137,200 was distributed and in 2013, $94,692 was distributed. Priority is given to those with opportunities for All Saints parishioners to experience hands-on ministry.
